Granville Island Publishing has created a new press release for Pnina’s upcoming book, Garden of Words.  <\/em> You can read it by following this link<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"\"(January 24, 2022): Granville Island Publishing today announced the release of Garden of Words <\/i>by poet and painter Pnina Granirer.<\/p>\n

An acclaimed visual artist for over 60 years, Pnina Granirer has also written poetry all her life. In this collection, she offers personal reflections that are at once joyous, sharp and heartbreaking. The sculpted stones in the Gulf Islands, the joy of watching dancers\u2019 bodies in movement, the shadow of a new plague\u2014each vivid vignette expresses Granirer\u2019s wish \u201cto plant a garden of words in [her] field of colours.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pnina Granirer <\/b><\/span>was born in Romania and lived in Israel, the<\/span> US<\/span> and<\/span> France<\/span> before<\/span> coming<\/span> to<\/span> Canada<\/span> in<\/span> 1965,<\/span> where she developed a career as a visual artist, showing locally, nationally<\/span> and<\/span> internationally.<\/span> An<\/span> extensive<\/span> archive<\/span> on<\/span> her work and life can be found in the collection of the British Columbia Artists\u2019 Archive at the University of Victoria, BC. <\/span>The Trials of Eve<\/i><\/span>, a limited-edition, award-winning book including drawings and poems was published in 1989. <\/span>PNINA GRANIRER; Portrait of an Artist <\/i><\/span>by Ted Lindberg was published in 1998 on the occasion of her 40th Retrospective Exhibition at the Richmond Art Gallery. Her memoir <\/span>Light Within the Shadows <\/i><\/span>appeared in<\/span> 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n
